The Next Day... They attempted to return to the nature trail and found it utterly impassable. The rabbits had grown to such a number that the entire walk was covered with them. Desmond and Morris were stunned. They tried to step through the unmoving mass of the beasts but could not find a perch to place their feet. The mass of fur and flesh and bone was completely inert. It seemed that the rabbits were in a sort of trancelike state. They just sat there or lay there unmoving and seemed to be completely unaware of their visitors.

"Well, this is really extraordinary" commented Desmond. Morris said nothing. He pulled out his camcorder and began filming. "When you're finished taping, let's take that straight to the police" said Morris. Desmond still said nothing but continued taping. He eventually ran out of videotape and began taking digital photos of the dumb, inert mass of beasts. Morris still said nothing. After he had used all of the tape and taken about a hundred or so photos, he just turned at look at Morris and still said nothing.

"Yeah, I know..." commented Desmond. "It's not possible...but your'e here, I'm here...so this is really happening. Let's leave before something happens." They turned and headed back into town, leaving the rabbits behind. Morris carefully packed the video and digital equipment in their carrying cases. Finally, he spoke..."Jesus...what the hell is going on"?
